For those of you in Canada, "Sorry, We're running a little late. You know with the government shutdown and all." For everyone else outside the US, "Cut us a little slack. We have to put up with more American tourists than you ever will."
Monday started off with this happy thought from Ari's Today-page (20th of November). 107 y. ago (1888) William Bundy invents 1st timecard clock.
Tuesday was the trip to Fry's.
Wednesday started not so bright but early with a 1AM power failure.
Thanksgiving. The one time a year families that don't normally speak to each other, fly from all over the world to have one dinner together. Is it the turkey, the cranberry sauce, the candied yams or something Freud said? "Watch out for Jung. He's a back stabber." Or as Jung would say, "Forget Freud. He doesn't know what he's talking about. Besides, have you seen his rates lately?"
Thanksgiving. The leaves have turned. The last of the halloween pumpkins have been scraped off the windows. The old man's on the roof risking life and limb to put up a bunch of different colored lights.
Thanksgiving. The end of the american work year. Which doesn't begin again until the Monday after Super Bowl Sunday.
Well, we finished off the turkey and the rest of the standard american Thanksgiving dinner. Then the war for the TV. The kids want to watch the bowl games. I want to watch C|net Online reruns. I've got the only remote control. I win.
They've canceled C|net Online and are running a parade instead. So much for having control.
The best part of Thanksgiving is you can threaten the kids with Santa Claus and keep them in line until Christmas.
Meanwhile back at the Spot ...
