Hello,
I'm just glad I didn't waste my vote on one of the minor parties like they did in Minnesota.
For any newcomers, I live on the left coast in the paisley state where even the dogs came out to vote the straight Democrat ticket. I can't say filling every state position from governor to dogcatcher with a Democrat has made California the leftmost state in the union but Hawaii now refers to California as the big island, Nevada as the mainland and Minnesota as the promised land.
I got an email about "Top 10 Pro wrestling names of figures in the media" (see http://www.byrum.org/the.web.walker/tasteless/monicanew.html) today. It's a funny idea.
We could have Bill "The Big Cigar" Clinton and Monica "The Other End of the Cigar" Lewinsky.
Newt "Down for the Count" Gingrich, Ken "The Punching Bag" Starr, Barbara "Scratch Before Striking" Boxer, Johnnie "The Chewbaca Defense" Cochran, Ross "CIA Aliens Want My Women" Perot, Linda "The Recorder" Tripp, Gray "The Pencil Neck" Davis, Janet "The Coyote Ugly" Reno, James "The Cue Ball" Carville, Eleanor "Not Even With A Bag Over Her Head" Cliff, Ted "Everyday is a bad hair day with a toupee" Koppel, Bill "Pie in the face" Gates, Willie "Three Pie" Brown, Saddam "What weapons of mass destruction" Hussein, Ted "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" Kennedy but I digress this was supposed to be a mailing about PEDS.
The Six Stages of Post Election Depression Syndrome.
1. Shock and denial
The initial feeling after a loss at the polls is often something like: "This can't be happening! It was voter fraud."
2. Anger
In the case of a massive defeat on election day it is common for the grieving person to feel anger toward the party that lost. "I've got morons on my team. They couldn't get laid in a home for wayward girls."
3. Depression
The grieving person may regret some past actions towards the losing party. "I could have voted more maybe mugged a couple of liberals before they voted."
4. Bargaining
In this stage a person will often try to bargain with God. "Lord, all I'm asking here is one lousy lighting bolt. 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. I'll get back to you with the zip code."
5. Sadness
After the grieving person has accepted reality, he will feel a deep sadness. "'94, oh how I miss our one good year together."
6. Forgiveness, resolution, and acceptance
"OK, so Newt isn't the first politician to destroy his party's future. Clinton flushed the Democrats down the crapper. I'll just have to find a real party to vote for. There's still Jesse Ventura and the Reform party."
In denial working up to anger,
