Question:
I was having a discussion with some friends about the Three Stooges, when a disagreement arose about the order of the appearance. I was wondering if you could help settle the argument. I thought Curly came before Shemp, but the other two guys said that Shemp was first.
Answer:
About Shemp being the first Curly:
As you know Ted Healy (their manager) used to call them Ted Healy
and his stooges. Shemp left after two movies. Then Curly came
into the picture. Although his mother didn't want to loose another
son to show business. They used to do comedy sketches when they
where younger and Curly had Moe tape lines to his forehead so
he could remember them. That is how his "turn-around"
on the floor came to be. When he couldn't remember his lines
he would go on the floor and turn around until he could remember
them again!
Question:
First, nice looking web page. You did a great job. Now for the
real issue.
My daughter had a sleep over the other night (it was her 13th
birthday party) and in the morning I video-taped all the girls
strewn across our living room floor, snoring away. I was wondering
if you could help me find the film clip which opens with the stooges
snoring, then Moe waking up and
telling the others to "wake up and go to sleep" I'd like to use that audio clip as a voice over the girls sleeping. I think it would add a little humor to the film. And, because all of them are big Stooges fans, it will be a little extra surprise when they see the finished video. Any help you can give me will be appreciated. Thanks
Answer:
There are a number of Three Stooges Shorts that have them snoring. In the episode "If A Body Meets A Body" Moe said to Larry "Wake up and go to sleep!" and in "Hold that Lion" Moe also said it to Larry. There are other but I cannot think of them right now.
I hope this helps you out!
Question:
In what film were the Stooges at Niagara Falls and did the "Slowly I turn, step by step, inch by inch ..." routine? Help! I want to surprise my other half and don't know the film.
Answer:
Hello, I beleive you are talking about the episode called "Gents without
cents" with Curly which was made in 1944. I hope this helps
